Protection - Entry/clearance paperwork requirements
The following is a list
of forms required by CBP:
- 2 Entrance 1300s
(make sure the Capt’s full name and DOB are on the form)
- Clearance from
previous port
- 2 copy of ship’s
stores
- 2 copy of crews’
effects
- 3 clearance 1300s
- 2 copies full crew
list
- 2 copies full
passenger list
All forms must conform
to official Customs forms in size, working arrangement, style, type
size, etc. Any forms that are 2 sided, must have both sides printed.
An I-418 must be given
to the agent before departure for any passenger or crew who has
embarked or disembarked in Key West.
CBP asks that the
following announcement be made before the ship has been cleared:
“Please be aware that Key West is only a port of call and you are
prohibited form taking any packages, boxes, or restricted items
ashore. Also, it is prohibited to take nay fruit, vegetables or food
ashore with you. Landing any such items is a violation of United
States Law and may result in a fine.”

Protection (IMMIGRATION)
If
departing to a foreign port, a
departure manifest is required and must include the following:
- Full crew list
(departure)
- Full passenger list
(departure)
- Added crew list with
I94s and/or I95s attached
- Separated crew list
with I408s attached
- Non US passenger list
with I94s attached – status of each Non US must be listed beside
each name
- I-92 form (departure)

Port Security Requirements
Passengers
- All passengers must
have photo identification (passport or drivers license) along with
their cruise card in order to pass through pier security and return
to the ship.
- All non-US passengers
must have their passport or a photocopy of the photo page of the
passport.
- If passengers return
to the checkpoint without I.D., the ship's security must go out to
the pier security to claim them.
Crew
- All crew will need
their crew I.D. and photo identification.
- All non-US crew must
also carry their I-95's. (CBP does randomly check and will fine
for this if not followed)
Luggage
- If there is luggage
arriving, ship's security will have to inspect the luggage by
opening it at the security checkpoint on the pier before it is
allowed onboard the ship.
Visitors
- If you have any
passenger / technicians / visitors / wedding visitors / crew / or
anyone who is expected to board the ship while in Key West, please
provide a list of their names to the agent who boards, preferably by email
prior, so that it can be given to port security. This enables pier
security to let the person pass through to the gangway
